Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of ShieldCortex software and services provided by Drakon Systems Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England, United Kingdom.

By using ShieldCortex, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use our software or services.

2. Open-Source Package (MIT Licence)

The ShieldCortex npm package is released under the MIT Licence. You are free to use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense, and/or sell copies of the software, subject to the conditions of the MIT Licence included with the source code.

The MIT Licence applies solely to the open-source npm package. Any hosted services (SaaS) are governed by separate terms outlined below.

3. SaaS Platform (Coming Soon)

We intend to offer a hosted SaaS version of ShieldCortex. When launched, the SaaS will be governed by additional terms of service specific to that platform, including subscription terms, service level agreements, and acceptable use policies. These Terms will be updated accordingly before launch.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use ShieldCortex for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any proprietary components (SaaS only; the open-source package is freely inspectable)
• Use the service to store, transmit, or process illegal content
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of our services
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or infrastructure
• Resell or redistribute our hosted services without written permission

5. Intellectual Property

The ShieldCortex name, logo, and branding are trademarks of Drakon Systems Ltd. The open-source code is licensed under MIT, but the brand and trademarks are not included in that licence.

Any proprietary components of the SaaS platform, dashboard, and API infrastructure remain the intellectual property of Drakon Systems Ltd.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The open-source package is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

ShieldCortex is a security tool, but no security tool provides absolute protection. We do not guarantee that our software will detect all threats or prevent all attacks.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Drakon Systems Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from:

• Your use or inability to use ShieldCortex
• Any unauthorised access to or alteration of your data
• Any third-party conduct on or related to the service
• Any security breaches that ShieldCortex fails to detect

8. Termination

For the open-source package, your rights are governed by the MIT Licence and persist as long as you comply with it.

For any future SaaS services, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access at any time for violation of these Terms, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the hosted service ceases immediately.

9. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

10. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Your continued use of ShieldCortex after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
